The Inuvialuit Final Agreement (IFA) sparked a renewed commitment to the Yukon North Slope. This commitment resulted in important annual funding to wildlife research projects unique to the area, as described below. Each year, the Wildlife Management Advisory Council (North Slope) reviews proposals for research projects related to wildlife management and ecological monitoring on the Yukon North Slope.

Projects supported by the Council are recommended to Parks Canada, Yukon Government and the Canadian Wildlife Service, who carry out the research. For more information about these and other projects, please contact our office.
